OUR MISSION
Devon Young Fishers CIC is dedicated to securing the future of the UK’s fishing industry by
providing young people (particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds) with
training, mentorship, and hands-on experiences in sustainable fishing.

Without the next generation of fishers, the fishing industry won’t survive into the future.
​Devon Young Fishers exists to engage and develop young people under the age of 16, while also offering light-touch support after they turn 16.
We identified a significant gap in support for under-16s interested in fishing and marine careers.
Our goal is to bridge that gap.
Our work is designed to complement, not duplicate, post-16 initiatives like other Fishing Networks. We prepare young people so they’re ready to thrive when they move on.

Sustainability: Fishing practices must evolve to meet environmental standards.
